Kiddliwinks

Photo opportunities today to capture some of my regular 'child models'. I met Joshua and his Mum at the Botanic Gardens (sans dogs - funny being there without them!).
Isabella (fresh from Rainbow Day at Preschool) and Jaime enjoyed their "bestie's" time while we grown-ups (workmates) had an after school catch up.

Serendipity is one of my favourite words

This cute pic of Joshua I snapped when his Mum Katie and I happened upon each other in the Botanic Gardens on Friday. Not the first time we have done that!

It was one of those serendipitous moments that you just NEED to have. A kind of happy, accidental occurrence that was meant to be.

I am glad to have some gorgeous pics of Joshua to remember it by.

Long Time, No See, J.P!

So often we get caught up in the busyness of our own little worlds and forget those things that ultimately define what our life is about.
Earlier in the year, I was reveling in the fact that I had a friend close by, and for a time we did really well at frequent face-to-face contact. But that had slipped of late, so it was time to revive Sunday Funday, but not at the Botanic Gardens today.
It was wonderful to play surrogate aunty to this most amenable of little boys. Not to mention spending time with his Mum and Dad. I have now offered myself up for babysitting duties! Wouldn't you?

P.S Westies - even if I no see you long time, you know I luff you long time!

A Well Intentioned Welcome.

Joshua was a little unsure of himself on his visit to Aunty Lynn's today.

Point the finger at the shrill welcome of an excited tricolour cavalier. Poor wee Joshua got a big fright, and to make matters worse, he was in his Aunty Lynn's arms at the time. So every time he was handed over for a cuddle today, he made it clear where he'd rather be.

Aunty Lynn's not daunted though. She reckons next time he'll be all over her!

And we'd better make that next time sooner rather than later, aye Katie?

Hugo LOVES Babies!

Today on our newly established get together at the Botanic Gardens, Joshua woke during our coffee break and Katie decided to introduce him to his first dog.
"Pick me" said Hugo - he has always made a beeline for babies, and being a gentle soul is a far better first canine acquaintance than his energetic brother.
First Joshua got the sniff treatment, then a lick on the leg, before Hugo surprised us all and decided to get a closer sniff!
Joshua took it all in his stride though, and did not freak out as he would have had license to do with a lunge like that!

A 'Large Rooster' by any other name...

From time to time I will need to remind myself that potentially this blog can be read by anyone. When I exclaimed to my friends Katie and Petrina today that 'That's the title of my blog post for the day!' I had not considered that. So I have played the synonym game, and will leave my readers to fill in the blanks, which will become clearer as I retell an anecdote from today.

Isn't this little angel delicious? JP (Joshua Paul) West in his second appearance in this forum. Today he had two doting 'aunties' smothering him with love and attention. Petrina and I were two of Katie and Paul's bridesmaids back in 2006 here in Thailand, along with Paul's sister and... the lovely Laura.

It is Laura who inspired the post's title. 'Aunty' Laura had also visited the West household to see wee Joshua in recent times.
"That's Laura's favourite bib" said Katie.
"Why?" we enquired.
"Because it's got a *large rooster* on the front of it".

At the time it was hilarious. Especially if you know Laura. But now, after writing it down, maybe it was one of those times you had to be there? I am glad I was.

Good boy, BAD boy!

Met up with Katie at the Botanic Gardens this morning - me - 3 dogs, her - 1 baby. Hmmm, not hard to guess who was responsible for the bad boy?

This little angel slept the whole way round, waking up at the end to say hello to his Aunty Lynn. Good boy, Joshua!

This little devil with the 'Who, me?' look, continued his latest trick at the leash off area, but worse. Shot off in the opposite direction through the gardens occupied by elderly volunteers dead heading the roses, chasing phantom birds, completely deaf to my call. BAD boy, Reilly!
